STUNNING TANK.
ZERO WORK.
You just feed your eyes — I handle everything else. Professional aquarium maintenance, installation, and care across Western North Carolina.
Your tank shouldn’t feel like a second job.
The scraping. The Sunday water changes. The test kit with five bottles and a color chart you never quite trust. The algae that comes right back no matter what the fish store sold you. You got into this hobby for the beauty — not the chores.
Now picture this: you walk past your tank and it’s just… clear. The water is polished, the fish are thriving, the corals are open. You didn’t lift a finger. Notice how good that feels — because that’s what every single day looks like when your tank is on my schedule.
One call handles all of it.
Every service below, done by the same person who answers your call.
Ongoing Maintenance
The service most of my clients choose. Weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly visits — water changes, testing, algae control, equipment checks — all handled and all documented. Plans from $65/visit. Because a tank on a schedule never becomes a chore.

You describe the vision — I design, build, and cycle the system, freshwater to full reef. You skip the months of guesswork and start with a tank that works from day one.

Moving is stressful enough. I move the entire system — livestock, water, equipment, aquascape — and re-establish it so your fish barely notice the trip.

Go on vacation without the 2 a.m. worry. In-home visits at $40/visit: feeding, top-offs, equipment checks, and health assessments while you’re away.

Reefs are unforgiving and gorgeous in equal measure. I maintain full reef systems across Western North Carolina — coral health, water chemistry, dosing, equipment — with the same scheduled, documented care as my freshwater routes. Devon Marlow is Western North Carolina’s only ABCAMP-certified aquarium technician, freshwater and reef.

Why tank owners across WNC hand me their keys.

- 20+ years with freshwater, 8+ years with reef. I’ve seen — and fixed — just about everything.
- I’m a solo operator: the person you talk to is the person standing at your tank. No rotating techs, no strangers.
- Every visit is documented — a digital report with water parameters and before/after photos, emailed straight to you.
- And I’ll give you honest advice: if something isn’t worth your money, I’ll tell you before you spend it.

Aquarium Emergency!?
Aquarium emergencies can be stressful, but they are often manageable if you act quickly and calmly. The most common issues include leaks from a failed seal or a cracked tank, which can cause significant water damage to your home. Electrical failures or equipment malfunctions, like a broken heater or filter, can lead to dangerous temperature swings or a toxic buildup of waste in the water. Other emergencies can involve sudden power outages that disrupt essential life support systems or a sick fish showing signs of distress.
Remain calm. The first step is to assess the problem and, if necessary, turn off the power to the tank and take immediate action, like bailing out water or isolating a sick fish. Then, call a professional.
